This informal group is open to anyone who is interested in home birth in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and surrounding areas. You will meet others who are thinking of having a home birth, who have had a home birth and midwives, doulas and other birth professionals that support home birth. You can ask questions, hear other people’s experiences, share your own if you wish and receive support in your choices. There’ll also be tea and coffee, and maybe even cake and biscuits!
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month, usually in the homes of people who have had home births themselves and they move around Shropshire to make them more accessible to people from different parts of the county. Meetings start at 7:30pm, they’re free and the next dates and locations are:

The group was set up in Autumn 08 by Gina and Emma, two women who were passionate about home birth and wanted to support others who would like to have home births. The photo on the right appeared in the Shropshire Star along with an article about the group on 4th December 08. See the article here. Gina and her daughter, Ember, are on the left and Emma and her sons, Abraham and Abel, are on the right. All three children were born at home. |
